About this site

This page shows what items really sell for in the MapleStory Classic Free Market, read off the screen by players running Club FM Watcher while they shop. Pick an item to see its typical price and recent sales. It updates itself every minute. Anyone can add prices from the Contribute page.

Prices are real sales. A sale is a shop row seen greyed out, which means someone paid the price printed on it. Asking prices of rows still for sale are shown apart and are never counted as sales.

Typical leans on the present: the middle price of the last 24 hours of sales when 5 or more sold in them, otherwise of the last 3 days. If even that is thin, it uses the last 10 sales, and if today's asking prices sit well above those it follows today's asks instead and says Rising. The typical range is the middle half of those same sales. Items with fewer than 3 sales fall back to asking prices and say Ask, and items seen fewer than 5 times say Low data.

24h is the typical sale of the last 24 hours against the 24 hours before it. Cheapest now is the lowest listing still up from the last day. In the item panel, a listing is likely still up when it was seen in the last 3 hours, and crossed out when the same shop was seen again later without it.

Sell my items prices what you're holding. My positions tracks what you bought to flip, and the star in an item's panel watches it; both ping you when the price moves past your set percent in a day. They're saved in this browser only.

Press / to search. Search understands chat shortcuts like GFA 60, WG or WLR, and scroll percents.

Where prices come from

How the prices are read

Every price comes from players running FM Watcher while they play (anyone can, from the Contribute page), and from public MapleStory Classic streams our Stream Reader watches. The program finds Free Market shop windows on screen, reads each row's item and price, and checks them against consistency rules before anything is published.

A sale is a shop row seen greyed out, or a row whose stock dropped between visits, at the price printed on it. Coverage depends on where we walked, so some items only have a few sales.

Streamers who would rather be left out can say so with the Feedback button and their channel is skipped from then on.

No footage is stored or hosted. Seller names are the shop owners' in-game names, as anyone in the Free Market could see them.

Item details, icons, levels and classes come from maplestory.io.

Data check

Every time the prices refresh, each item is checked against the rest of the data: tiers that look mixed up, our watchers and the streams disagreeing, a price that jumped or crashed in a week, everyone listing far under typical, and bundles that don't match singles. Items that fail show ⚠ Check, and their deals never ping.

Record your shopping

Walk the Free Market with FM Watcher running and it reads the shops for you. Every shop you open adds sales and listings here within a few minutes.

Get set up

  1. Download FM Watcher from the Contribute page and run install.bat.
  2. Double-click start.bat, then play as normal.

While you shop

  1. Open the channel menu once, or type your channel in channel.txt, so listings show the channel.
  2. Keep the minimap in view. It tells us which Free Market room you're in.
  3. Scroll each shop slowly to the bottom so every row is read.
  4. Keep the cursor off the item prices, except to hover an item for a second when you want its stats read.

Streaming instead?

If you stream MapleStory Classic on Twitch with Classic in your title, the Stream Reader can read your Free Market trips too. Tell Adam if you'd rather be left out.
